What is Convention?
The Federal NDP Convention is the party’s highest decision-making gathering. It brings together New Democrats from across the country—delegates from riding associations, labour affiliates, equity-seeking groups, and the NDP caucus—to shape the future of the party.
At convention, members:
-
Debate and vote on party policy and resolutions
-
Elect the party’s federal executive
-
Set priorities and strategy for the years ahead
- Participate in trainings to build up skills
-
Vote in the 2026 NDP Leadership Race
-
Build connections with New Democrats from every region
Conventions are where grassroots members have a real voice. Decisions made at convention directly influence the NDP’s platform, values, and direction heading into future elections.
